How Do I Choose the Right Size Dumpster?
First off, it’s important to know that Jackson Waste offers roll-off dumpsters in the sizes of 10, 20, 30, and 40 yards. These are all big dumpsters, and with that comes big projects. A lot of factors go into deciding what the best size for you is, including type of debris, amount of debris, and price. Size also depends a lot on your project. Whether you’re dealing with home improvement projects, junk removal or home cleanouts, disaster or storm cleanup, home restoration, landscaping projects, moving, foreclosures and evictions, or hoarding situations, Jackson Waste has a dumpster for all that and more.
10-Yard
The 10-yard dumpster is the smallest container we offer, but it can still hold the equivalent of 3 pickup trucks’ worth of materials. This size is useful for a number of small cleanups around the home, as well as some construction and demolition work:
- Yard cleanups
- Garage cleanouts
- Spring cleaning projects
- Light room remodels
20-Yard
The 20-yard dumpster is the mid-size dumpster and the most commonly rented dumpster, holding up to six pickup truck loads. Given its versatility, this size dumpster is suitable for a variety of projects. Order a 20-yard dumpster for:
- Deck removals
- Floor removals
- Bedroom remodels
- Roofing jobs
- Big landscaping jobs
- Dirt/concrete removals
30-Yard
The 30-yard dumpster is associated with bigger projects. This size dumpster, which can hold up to nine pickup truck loads, is a great height if you’re looking to dispose of large furniture.
- Large deck removals
- Large pool removals
- New home construction
- Interior renovations
- Whole home cleanouts
- Small home demolitions
40-Yard
The 40-yard dumpster, which can hold up to 12 pickup truck loads, is needed for the biggest of projects and should only be used when you have excessive amounts of waste.
- Large home cleanouts
- Demolitions projects
- Major interior renovations
- New construction
- Roof replacements
- Community cleanup events
Wait, What About Weight?
When it comes to deciding on which size dumpster you’ll need, it’s important to factor the weight of your debris in the decision process as well. You want to make sure to select the right dumpster for both the size and weight of the materials you’re getting rid of. Again, our customer service representatives will assist you in making that decision.
Where Can I Put My Dumpster?
Where you want your dumpster is entirely up to you. Well, sort of. We can only place the dumpster on paved surfaces. A lot of people like the dumpster placed on their front lawn for easy access. While it would be easy access, if it were to rain the dumpster could sink into the grass, which would then make it very difficult to remove. Driveways in residential areas are typically the best spots, and most common, to place a dumpster. It makes dropping off and picking up the dumpster that much easier.
In some cases, we can drop a dumpster off on the street in front of your property, but this would require a permit. A street permit allows us to legally leave a dumpster by your home. If you need multiple dumpsters, then multiple permits may need to be requested accordingly.
